MONROE TWP — A tractor-trailer filled with cartons of milk overturned on Routes 11/15 near Selinsgrove Monday afternoon. Snyder County 911 says the accident happened southbound at the Selinsgrove bypass onramp around 3:30p.m. The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained injuries and was taken to Geisinger Medical Center by ambulance. Dewart man hospitalized after a milk truck crash
SELINSGROVE — A Dewart man sustained major injuries after crashing his tanker truck on Routes 11 and 15 southbound near Selinsgrove. State police say 68-year-old Robert Hill lost control of the rig on the on-ramp to the bypass around 3:15 p.m. Hill was taken to Geisinger Medical Center and is listed in serious condition. New lighting for Selinsgrove
SELINSGROVE — A state grant will help pay for new lighting in the borough of Selinsgrove. The PennDOT Transportation Alternative Program will provide funding for additional decorative lighting in downtown Selinsgrove. The project will cost more than $400,000 and is also funded by grants from the Selinsgrove Chamber of Commerce and the Gelnett Trust. Selinsgrove launches energy conservation program
SELINSGROVE — Reducing energy costs for the entire community of Selinsgrove is the goal behind an energy conservation program launching in the borough. $elinsgrove $aves: The Energy Project, will kick off the effort with a celebration Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Selinsgrove Area Intermediate School. The public is invited. Energy Aviation to take over Penn Valley Airport
SELINSGROVE — A Montoursville based company is going to be running the Penn Valley Airport in Selinsgrove. Energy Aviation has assumed day-to-day operations and management from the Penn Valley based ‘Heritage Aviation.’ There will be familiar staff running Penn Valley Airport, as Jim Taylor, who was general manager at Heritage Aviation, took on the same title at Energy Aviation about a year ago, and will continue with the position. Isle of Que bridge open after suicide
SELINSGROVE — The bridge to the Isle of Que in Selinsgrove was closed for several hours Monday morning after a reported suicide. School districts to vote on SUN Tech expansion
SELINSGROVE—- More students means a need for more room. The SUN Area Technical Institute has settled on a renovation project to move the diesel mechanic and food programs to the West Campus located at the old Playworld building, to allow for more classrooms at the main campus in New Berlin. SELINSGROVE — Clean up has begun at a Selinsgrove church damaged by fire Monday. Pastor Ryan Gephart of Christ’s United Methodist Church says insurance adjusters and professional cleaners are currently working in the building. Volunteers and donations will be needed, says Gephart, but not quite yet, “Hold your donations and all those things. We will definitely need them and will be establishing a process. Two hurt in a crash in Hummels Wharf
SELINSGROVE – Two people were injured in a crash on Routes 11 and 15 near the Susquehanna Valley Mall. State police say the accident happened at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday when 48-year-old John Bickert of Shamokin drove through a red light and struck a vehicle in the intersection, driven by 59-year-old Holly Kerstetter of Port Trevorton. Bickert and Kerstetter’s passenger, 20-year-old Abigail Kerstetter, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of moderate injuries. Their conditions are not known. Delays on Selinsgrove Green Bridge Thursday
SELINSGROVE — Traffic may be slow Thursday for those wanting to cross the green bridge near Selinsgrove. PennDOT says traffic will be reduced to one lane on the bridge tomorrow on Route 522 between Monroe and Penn Townships. Black bear sighted in Selinsgrove
SELINSGROVE — A black bear has been spotted in Selinsgrove. According to eyewitness reports, the bear was first seen on the campus of Susquehanna University. Lane restriction on Green Bridge Wednesday
SELINSGROVE – There will be a lane restriction in place on the green bridge near Selinsgrove on Wednesday. PennDOT says traffic will be reduced to one lane on the bridge on Route 522 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. so pavement markings and line painting can be done. Armed robbery and home invasion in Selinsgrove
SELINSGROVE – Selinsgrove police are investigating a home invasion and armed robbery at a home on West Chestnut Street early this morning. Police tell us two suspects forced their way into the home through a rear door, encountering five men and two women inside the home. One suspect was armed with a .38 caliber rifle and the other had a short blade folding knife. They robbed the people inside the home and while one of the suspects was distracted, a resident was able to grab the gun, but was then struck by the suspect. Man improving after motorcycle crash
SELINSGROVE — A Port Trevorton man is improving after a motorcycle accident Friday. 41 year-old Michael Harlon is now in fair condition at Geisinger Medical Center. He was listed in critical condition last week after he ran his motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck on South Market Street in Selinsgrove. Hit and run victim remains in critical condition
SELINSGROVE – Police are still searching for the driver who struck a woman in Selinsgrove last week. The driver struck and critically injured 53-year-old Katherine Blann and left the scene. Police have identified a primary suspect vehicle as a white two door Jeep. Their suspicions arise from security video from a convenience store. Police say the footage from the scene suggests that the Jeep may have been speeding at the time of the incident. Katherine Blann remains at Geisinger Medical Center, where officials have confirmed that she is in critical condition.
